Custom 1962 Chevrolet Corvette C1-RS
For some Chevrolet Corvette connoisseurs, the early models designed by Harley Earl and engineered by Zora Arkus-Duntov best embody the style and performance that define this American sports car icon. A custom car builder in Mundelein, Ill., has combined that classic form with contemporary supercar underpinnings and created the Roadster Shop C1-RS convertible, the ideal ride for eye-catching, top-down cruising every summer.
The Roadster Shop crew begins with an original 1962 Corvette body and then adds aluminum and carbon-fiber components, plus wheels, finishes, and interior leather selected by the car’s owner. The C1-RS achieves 21st-century supercar performance thanks to a brand-new chassis and suspension, Brembo brakes, and a Chevrolet LS7 V-8 engine that produces 645 hp.
